Types of Diaphragm Solenoid Valves We Manufacture

A complete range of diaphragm type solenoid valve designs engineered for every actuation, pressure and material requirement.

Normally Closed (NC)

Valve stays closed when de-energized; opens on power supply. Most common configuration for on/off control.

Normally Open (NO)

Stays open in idle state; closes when energized. Used where fail-safe open position is required.

Pilot Operated Diaphragm Solenoid Valve

Uses differential line pressure to assist diaphragm movement. Best suited for medium to high-flow applications.

Direct Acting Solenoid Valve

Operates independently of system pressure. Ideal for vacuum or very low-pressure applications.

Brass Body

Suitable for water, air, and non-corrosive fluid lines.

Stainless Steel Body

Designed for corrosive media and hygienic process environments.

How a Diaphragm Type Solenoid Valve Works

A diaphragm solenoid valve controls fluid flow using three core components: a solenoid coil, a plunger, and a flexible diaphragm. When the coil is energized, it generates a magnetic field that lifts the plunger. This releases pilot pressure on the diaphragm, allowing line pressure to push it open — letting fluid or gas flow through. When power is cut, a spring returns the plunger to its seat, which pushes the diaphragm back down and closes the valve.

This pilot-operated mechanism makes the diaphragm type solenoid valve highly efficient — the solenoid only needs to move a small plunger, while the diaphragm handles full flow. The result is fast switching, low power consumption, and minimal wear on internal parts.

As a diaphragm operated solenoid valve manufacturer in Mumbai, Concorde Valves supplies these valves with EPDM, PTFE, and FKM diaphragms to match different media compatibility requirements.

What Our Clients Say

Trusted by procurement teams, EPC contractors and plant engineers across India.

We switched to Concorde's diaphragm solenoid valves for our filtration control system and the difference was immediate. Consistent switching, zero leakage, and we haven't had a single failure in over 18 months of continuous operation.

Suresh PatilMaintenance Manager, Water Treatment Plant, Pune

What stood out was the response time. Our pneumatic automation line runs at high cycle rates and these valves keep up without any pressure drop issues. Solid build quality and good technical support from the Concorde team.

Vikram DesaiAutomation Engineer, Process Industry, Ahmedabad

We needed FKM-sealed valves for a corrosive media application and Concorde delivered exactly what we specified. Lead time was reasonable and the valves have been performing well under tough conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about diaphragm operated solenoid valve, materials, sizing and selection.

A diaphragm solenoid valve is an electromechanically operated valve that uses a flexible diaphragm to control fluid or gas flow. When the solenoid coil is energized, it lifts a plunger that releases pressure on the diaphragm, allowing flow through the valve.

When electrical current passes through the solenoid coil, it creates a magnetic field that lifts the plunger. This releases pilot pressure on the diaphragm, which opens to allow fluid flow. When power is cut, a spring returns the plunger and diaphragm to the closed position.

Direct-acting valves operate independently of line pressure — suitable for low or zero pressure applications. Pilot-operated valves use differential line pressure to assist diaphragm movement, making them ideal for medium to high-flow applications.

Depending on body material and seal selection, these valves handle water, air, oil, steam, gas, and mild chemicals. EPDM seals suit water; FKM for oils and hydrocarbons; PTFE for chemically aggressive media.

Standard options include 12V DC, 24V DC, 110V AC, and 230V AC. Custom voltage configurations can be arranged based on application requirements.

Water treatment, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, chemical processing, oil & gas, pneumatic automation, HVAC, and industrial OEM manufacturing are the primary sectors.

Response time is typically 0.1 to 1 second depending on valve size, operating pressure, and type — direct-acting or pilot-operated.

With correct media compatibility and proper installation, high-quality diaphragm solenoid valves can perform reliably for several million operating cycles. Diaphragm material selection is key to maximizing service life.

These valves require minimal maintenance due to fewer moving parts. Periodic inspection of the diaphragm and coil, along with keeping the media clean and within specified pressure limits, is generally sufficient.

Yes. Port sizes, body materials, seal materials, coil voltages, and mounting configurations can be customized based on specific application or OEM requirements.
